Dating to 28 April 1881, this No. 2 gun of a Duke of Devonshire commission has a storied history, including a 1911 sale to Captain Greaton of the Royal British Navy. Damascus barrels bear Right 002 and Left 018 chokes, with a solid rib and a straight English stock featuring Right-hand cast. The underside line is visible but has been attended to by a stock finisher; the gun has recently been serviced in the United Kingdom, and the gunsmith marks are still proud with checkering sharp. Barrels measure 30" with an overall length of 44", LOP 14 1/4", DAC 1 3/4", DAH 2 1/2", and it weighs 6 lb 8 1/5 oz.
