An exquisite English James Lang sidelock ejector. James Lang was the middle son of the more famous gunmaker Joseph Lang, and he ran his own gunmaking business, producing a relatively small number of beautifully finished guns. While the company "James Lang & Co. Ltd" was located at 102 New Bond Street for a time, the address is more closely associated with Joseph Lang & Son, which took over the premises. Overall condition is excellent. The wood features the classic English walnut, and the stock has an extension measuring 1 3/4". Barrels are in very good condition with very light blueing wear in a couple of places and "James Lang & Co. Ltd 102 New Bond Street London" engraved along the solid tapered rib. Beautiful scroll engraving on receiver and on fence. Silver bead sight. Smooth break action and ejectors firing strongly.
