Cogswell & Harrison Boxlock Side by Side, 12 Ga, 27.5" Barrels
Crafted in the United Kingdom in 1911 by historic gunmaker Cogswell & Harrison, this Sideplated Boxlock side-by-side embodies the classic balance and refined engineering of traditional British gunmaking. Built with 2 ½-inch chambers and a tapered solid rib, it delivers a versatile twelve-gauge platform renowned for its instinctive handling and enduring quality.
This specific unit remains in exceptional condition, stocked in straight-grip English walnut with sharp checkering along the butt plate and only a single minor mark noted near the rear right side of the butt. The fences and receiver are adorned with fine scroll engraving, complemented by a well-preserved blued receiver underside and 27 ½-inch barrels that retain rich bluing with only faint, inconsequential surface marks.
Mechanically sound throughout, the action maintains a tight lockup on closure, with robust automatic ejectors, responsive double triggers, fixed Skeet and Modified chokes, and a classic silver bead sight.
