Classic Midland Company Boxlock Side by Side, 12 Ga, 28" Barrels
Originating from the United Kingdom in 1952, this Midland Gun Company 12-gauge boxlock exemplifies the timeless heritage of classic British gunmaking. Designed as a robust and well-balanced side-by-side, it provides the natural handling and pointability expected of a versatile field gun.
This unit presents in fabulous condition, showcasing appealing dark wood shaped with a Prince of Wales grip, a slight right-hand cast, and charmingly simple scroll engraving across the receiver. The frame retains approximately 25% of its color-hardening, complemented by 85% barrel bluing along the 28-inch barrels, which feature 2 ¾-inch chambers and a tapered solid rib fitted with a silver bead sight.
Mechanically sound, the action locks up tight on face and functions reliably with double triggers, extractors, and an automatic safety. Classified as a Curio & Relic acquisition, this vintage boxlock delivers quintessential mid-century English craftsmanship ready for the upland field.
