12 Ga | 29 ½" Nitro Proof Barrels | Makers Case

Agnew & Son of Exeter represents the storied tradition of British gunmaking, known for producing balanced and reliable firearms during the early twentieth century. This 12-gauge side-by-side, manufactured in 1925, exemplifies the classic English design intended for versatile use in the field.

This specific unit remains in original condition and features a robust heavy cross bolt action with side clips and a third fastener. The 29 ½" nitro-proofed barrels exhibit external bluing wear and localized pitting, while the straight English walnut stock is configured with a 1 ⅝" drop at comb and a 2 ¼" drop at heel, noting a small piece of wood missing on the forend.

The gun locks up tight and is on face with excellent bores, functional ejectors, and minimum wall thicknesses measured at 28 ½/1000 and 30 ½/1000. Weighing 6 lbs 13 1/5 oz, this C&R eligible firearm is accompanied by its worn maker’s case which still retains the original manufacturer’s label.
