Antique W.W. Greener .410 Hammer gun
W.W. Greener’s reputation for excellence is exemplified in this single-barrel side lever hammer gun, a design that highlights the ingenuity of late 19th-century British gunmaking. Produced in 1878, this firearm represents the storied heritage and mechanical precision associated with one of England's most prestigious manufacturers.
This unique example likely originated as a Rook Rifle but is now proofed for .410 gauge with 2½" Nitro chambers and a 26" barrel. The pistol grip stock features a 14¼" length of pull, with 14 1/8" measured to the wood, and has been carefully restored by re-attaching the original section and metal buttplate to rectify a previous shortening of ½".
The gun is presented in what appears to be its original wood & fabric case, complete with the authentic maker’s label. Mechanically, the side lever action remains functional and the assembly locks up with the security and tightness expected of a high-grade antique firearm.
