This example has beautifully figured varnished walnut with only light surface marks, along with crisp checkering on the stock and fore‑end. The Damascus barrels show their pattern clearly, and the top rib is engraved “T. Bland & Sons 430 West Strand London.” It has a brass bead sight, detailed scroll engraving on the receiver and fence, and a carved wooden butt plate. Made in 1887 in the United Kingdom, it remains in very good shape for its age.
